The hotel
Originally from the Alta Rocca and Porto-Vecchio, Lise CANARELLI and Anthony BORNEA are both passionate about history and fell under the spell of this splendid patrician house, set in 19 hectares of parkland planted with majestic Lebanese cedars and centuries-old chestnut trees.
This prestigious building, built at the beginning of the last century by the P.L.M. hotel company, served throughout the years the wealthy clientele of the belle époque, who travelled all over Europe. Over the course of its history, it also served as a refuge for noble political exiles, before retreating into a long period of solitary meditation in recent decades.
The renovation work currently underway is being carried out with precision and elegance so as to preserve the essence of the building’s heritage and history, which stands at the very heart of the Land of the Lords.
Completely stripped bare at the start of the project, iconic features such as the facades, roof ridges and chimneys have been carefully preserved to restore the old-fashioned charm of a sumptuous past.
Its new owners have decided to revive this iconic place, harmoniously combining the past and present to create a unique setting where guests can experience the wealth of culture, heritage and environment of their native island.
The past century has endowed this house with its protecting harmony, and it has been completely restored without the intention of freezing it completely in its original period.

She has poured all her creativity and passion for architecture steeped in history into this project.
Brought up with a deep respect for heritage and environmental values, she brilliantly rose to the challenge of reviving this sumptuous “sleeping beauty”, happily combining the lustre of yesteryear with the French art of living. And perfecting this renovation is the wild and exceptional Corsican countryside that serves as the backdrop to this magnificent “project of a lifetime”.
Anthony
Deeply attached to Zonza since birth, he knows by heart all the wonders of the Alta Rocca, his childhood playground.
From a very early age, he contemplated this immense patrician house and said with great confidence “someday I’ll buy the Mouflon”, earning the benevolent smiles of his family circle. But he was right, you should always believe in your dreams...
Passionate about this gigantic renovation project, he has devoted time and energy to turning his dream into reality, and to welcoming you soon to a place like no other. A personal and family tale, intrinsically linked to the fabulous mineral and plant scenery that forms the backdrop to the Estate.
